Still Doing Rebuilds Today
Graphic Innovators is still performing the tasks that made them successful. A rebuild of the most popular web press ever, the Harris Heidelberg M1000B. One of the major printing companies in the U.S. wanted to upgrade from their existing units to faster, more reliable and efficient units. They also needed to achieve all this while keeping the existing auxiliary in place. (Splicer, ovens, chills and inline finishing system)
Graphic Innovators sourced a press and provided an audit, in order to recommend the necessary scope or work to meet the client's needs. The units were brought back to our production facility just outside O’Hare International Airport to be rebuilt. The 8 units were rebuilt in just 3 months. The rebuild focused on repairing the damaged areas of the units mechanically and upgraded the existing controls and drive platforms to Allen Bradley Logics 5000 PLC and PowerFlex Dc drives. This cost effective rebuild was able to provide the required improved print quality, speed, and reliability that the client had voiced a need for.
The project was not over, just as much work as the rebuild itself was integrating the new upgraded units into the existing auxiliary equipment. Our technicians went with the press to the customers location to complete the install. They stayed and made sure that every component of the press was communicating and running properly. Now the customer has a press they are proud of and meets all the requirements they had come to us with.
